JMIR Publications has announced the appointment of Dr. Fuqing Wu, as Editor-in-Chief of the journal JMIRx Med.
Dr. Fuqing Wu previously served as a member of the journal’s editorial board and will now lead efforts to guide the strategic direction of the publication, oversee editorial board activities, and strengthen the journal’s visibility and impact in digital health research.
Dr. Fuqing Wu is an assistant professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where research focuses on environmental and genomic surveillance of viral diseases. Research work integrates molecular virology, genomic sequencing, and biostatistical approaches to support wastewater-based epidemiology used for tracking pathogen transmission, viral evolution, and community health.
Research initiatives led by Dr. Fuqing Wu contribute to public health preparedness by enabling earlier detection of emerging infectious threats and supporting evidence-based responses to outbreaks.
