Educational publisher Jones and Bartlett Publishers, Inc. (J&B), US, has announced the acquisition of Blanchard & Loeb's Nursing Drug Handbook series and Health Leadership Associates widely used series of nurse practitioner certification review guides. The transactions expand J&B's market leading position in nursing academic and professional publishing. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
J&B has released an updated version of the essential Nurse's Drug Handbook 2009. The Handbook claims to be the most practical, up-to-date, and easiest to use nursing drug book reference. Newly updated editions of the Nurse's Handbook of IV Drugs and Nurse's Handbook of Behavioral and Mental Health Drugs are also available.
With the acquisition of Health Leadership Associates, J&B adds a best-selling series of nurse practitioner certification review and question books for a variety of specialties including adult, family, pediatric, psychiatric, and midwifery/women's health. For over 20 years, these books have been used by leading educators as part of their nursing curriculums and by tens of thousands of NP's to prepare for - and pass - the certification examinations of the major national testing boards.
