Journal of Physics D brings out 10th cluster issue of 2008 -

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, published by IOP publishing, UK, has announced the online publication of its 10th cluster issue of 2008 - Streamers, sprites and lightning. The papers in this Cluster Issue originate from a workshop, conducted in October 2007, which brought together researchers from plasma physics, electrical engineering and industry, geophysics and space physics, computational science and nonlinear dynamics around the common topic of generation, structure and products of streamer-like electric breakdown.

Guest edited by Ute Ebert and Davis D Sentman, the cluster issue is projected as an essential reading for any researcher working in the area. The papers are currently free to download from the journal's website at http://www.iop.org/EJ/toc/0022-3727/41/23. These papers will remain freely available until February 28, 2009.

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics reports significant new results in all aspects of applied physics research. The journal welcomes experimental, computational (including simulation and modelling) and theoretical studies, and also studies in physics-related areas of biomedical and life sciences. It covers research across many areas of applied physics, including magnetism, semiconductors, photonics, surfaces and interfaces, and plasmas.
