Julie Presas named OCLC General Counsel and VP of Legal Services -

OCLC, the non-profit computer library service and research organisation, has announced that Julie Presas has been promoted to General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Services. She succeeds Jim Houfek, who retired effective March 1 as OCLC Vice President and General Counsel after 21 years of service to the cooperative.

Presas has been Assistant General Counsel since 2009, and has been with OCLC since 2001. Prior to joining OCLC, she was General Counsel for Fiber Network Solutions, Inc., a tier one network provider for businesses in the Midwest region of the United States.

She serves on the boards of two local non-profit organisations, the Short North Stage and Besa Community. She also provides pro-bono services through the Columbus Legal Aid Society Adult Shelter Assistance Project.
