Scientists and researchers have a vital interest that their achievements are published, and in their publications they refer to other scientific texts. From their headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, Karger Medical and Scientific Publishers ensure that the global scientific community receives high-quality content in a user-friendly way. For this reason, it has retro-digitized all books prior to 1997 that were ever published by Karger and is presenting them on the Karger Website. The 'eBook Archive Collection' comprises 2,400 Karger titles, over a third of which are out-of-print.
In addition, over 80 specially chosen titles from the digitized book and journal program spanning 125 years are available online. The 'Publishing Highlights' begin with the very first Karger Publication from 1890, a handbook for obstetrics in the German language. They extend to the newest release in molecular medicine.
For the anniversary a richly illustrated Festschrift will be released. It tells the history of Karger Publishers until the present day.
