This year's Vesalius Innovation Award comes with a total prize pool of $25,000, with the winner receiving $15,000 and two runners-up each being awarded $5,000. The award serves as a platform to foster innovation and provide crucial financial support to startups driving advancements in healthcare and scientific publishing.
The focus of this year's competition revolves around knowledge communication, patient centricity, and artificial intelligence. Early-stage startups in the health sciences sector are invited to submit their applications via the dedicated website, www.karger.com/via, starting from May 15 until September 3.
The judging panel, consisting of esteemed experts from the Health Sciences and publishing domains, will carefully evaluate the submissions and provide valuable feedback to the participants. Following the evaluation, the top five shortlisted startups will be invited to showcase their innovative ideas at the STM Week in London in December. This exclusive opportunity allows the finalists to gain exposure and recognition among a wider audience of industry professionals.
The Vesalius Innovation Award has been presented in collaboration with the STM Association since its inception. Notably, the Vesalius Innovation Award has played a pivotal role in fostering partnerships, with over 13% of previous applicants, including non-winners, going on to establish collaborations with Karger.
