Scientific and medical publisher Karger Publishers has offered German academic institutions a Publish and Read agreement covering the years 2021-2023. The Open Access (OA) agreement was negotiated, coordinated, and signed by the Bavarian State Library (Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, BSB) on behalf of higher education and research institutions across Germany.
The new three-year deal builds on the successful introduction of Karger Publishers’ Publish and Read model in 2020, offering consortium members not only access to all Karger e-Journals, but also OA publication in Karger Publishers subscription journals for affiliated researchers at no additional cost to the authors. The Publish and Read agreement receives financial support from the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).
