MDPI has announced that Kasetsart University, Thailand, has officially joined its Institutional Open Access Program (IOAP). This exciting partnership marks a significant milestone for both institutions, as Kasetsart University becomes MDPI’s first local partner following the opening of its Bangkok office.
Under this new agreement, authors affiliated with Kasetsart University will enjoy a 10% discount on article processing charges (APCs) for all MDPI journals. Additionally, the university will have access to MDPI’s online submission system, SuSy, where researchers can easily access full article metadata and pricing information. This will enhance transparency and streamline the submission process for the university’s academic community.
The partnership was solidified after productive discussions between MDPI’s Bangkok office and key leaders from Kasetsart University, including Prof. Dr. Dokrak Marod, Vice President for Research and Internationalization, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apisit Songsasen, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Assistant to the President for Research and Internationalization.
Moving forward, both parties are excited to explore further opportunities for collaboration. These potential initiatives include author training, journal publishing, conferences, media partnerships, and recruitment efforts aimed at strengthening the research ecosystem in Thailand.
MDPI continues to welcome other institutions interested in joining the IOAP, offering streamlined publishing processes and enhanced access to global academic platforms.
