Information and point-of-care solutions provider Wolters Kluwer Health, US, has announced that a recent KLAS report found the Sentri7 real-time clinical decision support tool to be the highest-rated pharmacy surveillance product.

CDS Surveillance 2013: Impacting Outcomes also reported 92 percent of customers who bought Sentri7 would purchase it again. In the report's vendor performance side-by-side comparison, Sentri7 received the highest score for 18 of 25 key indicators, including ease of use, overall satisfaction, overall product quality, quality of implementation, and likely to recommend.

KLAS interviewed more than 140 providers using surveillance-specific products or surveillance functionality within their electronic medical records (EMRs) to better answer the questions such as "How big of an impact is surveillance having today?" and "How capable are these systems out of the box? How easy are they to customize?"

Additionally, Sentri7 was rated 85 percent positive for moderate-to-significant impact on patient care. Users of Sentri7 reported decreased length of stay, antibiotic usage, medication costs, and adverse reactions, as well as better IV-to-PO conversions.

Sentri7 is a web-based, real-time decision support application that drives continuous improvement and empowers healthcare organisations to achieve excellence in care delivery. Sentri7 interfaces with the hospitals pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, surgery, microbiology and ADT systems to aggregate data and identify at-risk patients who require immediate clinical interventions through a series of customisable rules and logic.
