Knovel, a Web-based application integrating technical information with analytical and search tools, has announced that members of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) now have access to the latest features offered by Knovel. Notable functionality includes simplified navigation, improved browsing and user interface, as well as the ability to save and organise frequent searches, titles and content. As a benefit of membership, ASME offers free access to a collection of Knovel's content and interactive tools.
ASME members will continue to access Knovel through ASME's e-Library. Members use the e-Library to find answers to technical questions fast, particularly related to material selection and streamlining project documentation. They also take advantage of powerful data analysis tools. Knovel has been offered as a member benefit in ASME's e-Library since 2005.
In a survey of ASME members announced in 2009, one-third (34 percent) of respondents indicated that using Knovel in the e-Library improved their productivity by 20 percent or more. More than 600 major corporations and academic institutions turn to Knovel to search the Company's validated content.
