Knowledgespeak's exclusive interview with Keith MacGregor, EVP, Scientific and Scholarly Research, Thomson Reuters, at the Frankfurt Book Fair -

Knowledgespeak interviewed Keith MacGregor, Executive Vice President, Scientific and Scholarly Research, Thomson Reuters, on Thursday, October 7, at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

When asked about his views on making content available in mobile format and the initiatives Thomson Reuters is taking in that direction, Keith said, "Thomson Reuters is well positioned to be able to address this technology. The company has been working closely with customers in terms of understanding their needs, and making information available in a variety of different formats".

During this interview, Keith also talked about Thomson Reuters' recently launched Global Institutional Profiles project. He said that the Global Institutional Profiles project involved gathering data on things like grants, student population as well as staffing degrees granted, for hundreds of institutions around the world. The first use of that dataset was for delivery of information, along with publication and citation data derived from the Web of Science, to the Times higher education group to develop the Times Higher Education World University rankings, which was released about three weeks ago.

He also briefly talked about the company's plan to launch a new product that uses a combination of all these data to help present multidimensional profiles for several hundred research institutions worldwide.

The complete interview will be published in Knowledgespeak shortly.
