The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) has announced that Kuansan Wang, Director of the Internet Service Research Centre at Microsoft Research, is now confirmed as a keynote speaker at next month's ALPSP Conference.
Kuansan will consider how we are on a journey, travelling From Web Publishing to Knowledge Web Publishing. New research activities and technologies have helped the web evolve from a collection of documents to become the largest knowledge base in our history: we are in the midst of a silent revolution driven by technological advances. What does this mean for publishing and the consumption of content?
Keynote speakers Kuansan Wang from Microsoft as well as Anurag Acharya, co-founder of Google Scholar, join a host of senior industry figures to consider the future of scholarly publishing.
The ALPSP Conference will be held in London from September 9-11, and provides a friendly forum in which to share information and knowledge and engage in open discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing publishing today. Interested parties may register before August 7, 2015 to avoid the late registration fee.
