Kudos, a platform for research dissemination, has appointed Richard Baxter as its new Managing Director, effective May 19, 2025. The leadership transition follows the departure of co-founder and CEO Melinda Kenneway, who will remain actively engaged with the organization.
Founded in 2013 by Melinda Kenneway, Charlie Rapple, and David Sommer, Kudos has developed a platform focused on improving the accessibility and visibility of research. Over the past 12 years, the organization has established itself as a partner to research institutions, publishers, and funders globally.
The appointment is positioned to support Kudos’ continued growth, with a particular emphasis on expanding its presence in the life sciences. Baxter brings experience from the medical communications and pharmaceutical sectors, having held senior roles at AstraZeneca as well as leadership positions at agencies such as IPGH (CMC Affinity) and Ashfield (iMed, QXV Communications, and Watermeadow). His background includes scaling early-stage companies and aligning organizational growth with scientific communication objectives.
Kenneway will remain involved with Kudos while also pursuing interests in the arts. Co-founders Rapple and Sommer continue in active roles and are expected to work closely with the new Managing Director as the organization advances its next phase of development.
