Technical professional association IEEE, US, has announced that the November/December issue of IBM Journal of Research and Development has been published and appears exclusively in the IEEE Xplore digital library.
This issue focuses on cloud computing and emphasises new technologies that form the foundational building blocks for scalable and secure computing. Cloud computing has the potential to greatly reduce the complexity of information technology (IT) management. Building on virtualisation technologies, cloud computing transforms the traditional model of IT into a set of easily configurable, manageable, and scalable services.
Delivering on the promise of utility computing, cloud computing will enable ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of computing resources that can be released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. The latest issue of IBM Journal of Research and Development presents many challenges as well as opportunities in a broad range of areas that span systems, software, and services related to cloud computing.
