The London Book Fair has announced that the third edition of its Virtual Conference: Publishing Around the Globe, will return on June 1, 2017, exploring key trends in important global publishing markets through a series of social media events taking place on one day.
Supported by data provided by Nielsen Book, the event extends LBF's popular Quantum Conference concept to the virtual arena, enabling an international audience to participate from the comfort of their own desks. The event will bring together a range of publishers and market experts from around the world for a day of engaging debate on social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook Live, with exclusive content also delivered via podcasts, webcasts and webinars.
This year's Virtual Conference will kick off in the Far East, where Open Book will present its latest data on the Chinese market, before heading across to Indonesia and Singapore for an overview of two very different propositions. The tour will then jump to Europe visiting Poland for a session on LBF’s Market Focus country of 2017, and then move on to India where the country's school text book publishing market will be put under the spotlight.
The next stop will take delegates to the southern hemisphere, South Africa, before heading back north to Sweden and then on to the USA where NPD and Nielsen Book will take a look at highlights in Children's/juvenile market. The conference will finish in the UK, LBF's home nation, with a special data-led presentation from Nielsen Book giving a quick romp round the key markets and highlights from the UK.
The Virtual Conference is free to attend and delegates wishing to get involved should register their interest via Eventbrite. They will then be able to download a full event programme, which includes details on all accounts and hashtags to follow. On the day, delegates will be encouraged to participate, with time set aside for Q&A at each virtual event.
