Breast cancer journal Breast Cancer Research celebrated its tenth anniversary at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting in San Diego.
An international, peer-reviewed online journal, Breast Cancer Research publishes original research, reviews, commentaries and reports. The journal has published over 1200 articles in the last decade, including several high impact studies that have received praise from the research community. The discovery that breast cancer prognosis may be inherited as well as research showing that young women can reduce their risk of breast cancer by slimming, both generated worldwide media interest.
Dr Lewis Chodosh has taken on the role of Editor-in-Chief to continue the journal's success as it enters its second decade. Over the past year, Dr. Chodosh and his colleagues from the University of Pennsylvania have made significant progress in understanding the molecular basis for breast cancer progression as well as the protective effect of pregnancy on breast cancer risk.
Eminent researchers, Editorial Board members, authors and reviewers gathered at the AACR's Annual Meeting to celebrate the journal's first ten years of success and to welcome Dr Chodosh as the new Editor-in-Chief. Past Editor-in-Chief Prof. Bruce Ponder has published an editorial to commemorate the anniversary. The editorial features on a special edition CD-ROM that highlights some of the journal's most popular articles from its first ten years.
