Lexi-Comp offers clinicians with direct links to PubMed -

Medical information and clinical content solutions provider Lexi-Comp, Inc., US, has announced that it has added direct PubMed linking to Lexi-Comp ONLINE. Subscribers can now link directly to abstracts of the primary literature from the References field of monographs within this web-based application. With this enhancement, clinicians can now more quickly and effectively search information impacting patient care.

PubMed, a service of the US National Library of Medicine, includes over 18 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources.

This linking is available within Lexi-Comp's core drug databases, Lexi-Drugs and Pediatric Lexi-Drugs. Lexi-Drugs includes content that addresses all patient populations and covers clinical specialties such as cardiology, infectious disease, oncology, psychiatry, anesthesiology, and others. Monographs include up to 67 fields of information, such as Adverse Reactions, Drug Interactions, Contraindications, Dosing, Medication Safety Issues, Pharmacodynamics and Kinetics, and Special Alerts (including FDA boxed warnings). Pediatric Lexi-Drugs is designed for situations where pediatric dosing information is required and contains guidelines that have been researched and compiled by pediatric specialists. The database includes over 820 pediatric-sensitive drug monographs with detailed dosing guidelines for neonates, infants, and children.

In addition to these databases, Lexi-Comp has added PubMed linking to databases that cover geriatric medications, infectious diseases, pharmacogenomics, lab and diagnostics, and natural products, all of which are accessible within Lexi-Comp ONLINE.
