LIBER to highlight importance of research libraries to EOSC in Vienna -

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) will be launched in Vienna on November 23 and research libraries will have a major role to play in this new infrastructure, which is aimed at Europe's 1.7 million researchers.

Research libraries are the channels through which knowledge and data will reach the EOSC. They can promote the new portal and provide training. Through their policies, tools and infrastructures, libraries are also key to reshaping research processes and mindsets. In other words, libraries are laying many of the foundations which will help the EOSC to thrive.

LIBER will be highlighting the importance of research libraries to the EOSC in Vienna on October 30.

They will have materials showing the importance of libraries to the EOSC (including copies of Open Science Roadmap) and information about the EOSCpilot project. They will also be working with sketch artist Patrick Hochstenbach to share notes from each speaker on social media.

Through the EOSCpilot project, LIBER will also be in Vienna for the Second EOSC Stakeholders Forum on November 21-22, 2018.
