Lipscomb University, in Nashville, Tennessee, has selected Encore Duet, which offers patrons a single search of local books and digital resources, plus content from EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) that brings users the most comprehensive collection of full-text articles and e-books available. Encore Duet is a collaboration between Innovative and EBSCO to provide access to EDS within the Encore experience. The interoperability of Encore Duet and EDS will provide improved discoverability and delivery of content for students and faculty at the university.
Lipscomb University had been looking for a seamless integration of all of their resources as well as relevant content for their users. According to Kayce Gill, Serials and Electronic Resources Librarian at Lipscomb University, the Encore Duet solution provides a seamless discovery experience for their users.
The integration of services between EDS and Encore, not only expand the quality and amount of content available for library patrons, but it also offers the enhanced features and functionality available from EDS. Gill notes that since implementation of Encore Duet, the library users have come to rely on the relevancy ranking feature as well as the expanded facets feature.
These partnerships are part of a continuing effort from EBSCO to improve accessibility and usability for customers by expanding the integration of services, while focusing on improving discovery and delivery of content.
