Information infrastructure software provider Mark Logic Corporation, US, has announced a new version of its award-winning database, MarkLogic Server 4.2, which includes powerful new features that transform the way enterprises can store, manage, and analyse unstructured information. The new release includes MarkLogic Information Studio, which claims to be the industry's first ETL (extract, transformation, and loading) tool for managing unstructured information, as well as powerful new features for availability and recovery including full database replication.
Currently available for download, MarkLogic 4.2 is a new type of database that seeks to help industries including the media, government, and financial services sectors to fully exploit unstructured information such as documents, social media posts, emails, tweets, pictures, videos, blogs, and research data. The MarkLogic 4.2 database is specifically designed to handle this information.
With MarkLogic 4.2, the company launches Information Studio, the first ETL tool for unstructured information that makes loading information within MarkLogic easier. With Information Studio, customers can simply drag and drop files or point to a file directory to load into MarkLogic. When combined with other application services including Application Builder, Information Studio delivers significant benefits in terms of accelerating development of new information applications while reducing the cost of operations of MarkLogic.
