Mary Ann Liebert will assume the role of Founder and Chair of the company, enabling her to focus on new avenues for strategic growth and investment for the company, which has been her passion from the day the company was founded. This structure also reaffirms the company’s long-standing commitment to remain fully independent and a leading publisher of scientific, technical, and medical content.
Marianne Russell joined the company as Senior Vice President, Business Development in 2007 and assumed the roles of President of GEN and Chief Operating Officer in 2017. In these roles, Russell led the company to impressive growth through global licensing expansion, high-profile journal acquisitions, society partnerships, and introduction of impactful new digital products and services. She oversaw the doubling of the GEN media brand’s revenue as well as reconceived and relaunched its sister publication Inside Precision Medicine.
