Maverick Outsource Services, a UK-based provider of outsourced solutions for the publishing industry, has announced the creation of a new division that specialises in providing dedicated, targeted product sales representation for academic and educational publishers. Delivering high quality direct sales and sales support services, Maverick's new Institutional Sales Division seeks to specialise in accessing academic, public and national libraries around the world. It claims to have extensive experience in selling both directly to institutions and national consortia, as well as selecting and managing specialist distributors and agents on behalf of its publisher clients.
In addition to direct sales, the team will provide assistance in other aspects of sales development including creation of targeted sales strategies; market and customer type sales segmentation; competitor analysis; and regional marketing support including localised publicity distribution and exhibition/conference representation.
The division will be headed up by Deborah Harman, former Director of International Sales at ABC CLIO and founder of Publishing Sales Solutions, which now forms the basis of the new division.
The Institutional Sales Division seeks to bring extensive experience to publishers wishing to tap into the international marketplace. With in-depth expertise in global academic sales, in particular in EMEA and Asia Pacific, as well as a background in developing distribution networks in all regions of the world, the Maverick team is stated to have existing relationships with a wide range of agents and regional distributors.
