Scientific and medical information resources provider McGraw-Hill Professional, US, has announced that its suite of Access-branded digital learning platforms - including AccessMedicine, AccessScience and AccessEngineering - will be offered for the first time to Chinese students, educators, and researchers. The move is the result of a new distribution initiative recently announced by McGraw-Hill Professional in New York.
McGraw-Hill will use the platform of the Chinese Education and Research Network (CERNET) to offer the Access platforms to Chinese universities. These platforms, being sold for the first time ever in China, cover six vertical specialties and sub-specialties in medicine including AccessMedicine, AccessSurgery, AccessEmergency Medicine, AccessAnesthesiology, AccessPharmacy, and AccessPhysiotherapy. Other digital platforms being offered are AccessEngineering and AccessScience.
These digital platforms incorporate the content of some of the leading textbooks in medicine, science, and engineering, including, Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine - the bestselling medical textbook in the world - as well as Schwartz's Principles of Surgery, Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook, and the McGraw-Hill Encyclopedia of Science & Technology. In addition, all of the platforms feature rich multimedia such as video and animations. Four of the 12 platforms include custom curriculum tools enabling professors to design course reading and learning, as well as testing and assessment.
Distribution of McGraw-Hill Professional's Access platforms in China is effective immediately, with sales to university libraries and research facilities led by McGraw-Hill Beijing in partnership with digital products distributor iGroup. The Access platforms are offered as subscriptions with continuous updates and upgrades to the product throughout the year.
