Digital learning company McGraw-Hill Education, US, has announced the launch of Magna Campus, the first professional development product created through the collaboration between Magna Publications and the McGraw-Hill Learning Institute, the company's professional development unit designed to help faculty navigate new and emerging educational technologies.
It has been observed that Professional development in the higher education industry is becoming increasingly important as shifts in student demographics, pedagogy and classroom technology usage mean that faculty require a new generation of training tools. McGraw-Hill Education launched Magna Campus to help educators respond effectively to these challenges.
Magna Campus comprises more than 4,000 resources including research-based white papers, interactive seminars, and timely newsletters created and delivered by thought leaders and experts in the field of faculty professional development. Available 'on demand,' topics provide deep coverage of subjects such as student engagement, collaboration, and even compliance-related issues. Faculty can access Magna Campus through MH Campus, a unique web portal that seamlessly integrates with all major learning management systems (LMSs) on campuses nationwide, or through an institution's own LMS system, allowing for easy, immediate access to the teaching and learning development resources they need, when they need them.
Also available through MH Campus is the 2014 Introduction to Teaching Resource Package, a series of all-in-one resource packages that help faculty development directors and department deans support new and returning instructors in both online and face-to-face classes. These resource packages are topically based and geared not only toward new faculty, but also to experienced faculty, with more extensive white papers and seminars. Full campus or departmental annual licenses are now available for both Magna Campus and the 2014 Introduction to Teaching Resource Package.
