McGraw-Hill Education appoints Dr. Nana Banerjee as President and CEO -

Learning science company McGraw-Hill Education has announced the appointment of Dr. Nana Banerjee as president and chief executive officer, effective April 23. Dr. Banerjee, is currently group president of Verisk Analytics, a leading data analytics provider, and has a proven track record of driving global growth and exceptional performance in both public and private companies.

He will be based in New York and succeeds Lloyd G. "Buzz" Waterhouse, who became interim president and CEO in October 2017 having previously served as president and CEO from June 2012 through April 2014. Waterhouse will remain with the company until Dr. Banerjee begins his tenure and will continue to serve on the company's board of directors after he steps down as interim president and CEO.

Dr. Banerjee has extensive experience leading, innovating and scaling technology businesses globally. He came to Verisk as part of its acquisition of Argus, where he was chief operating officer. He served as the group president of Verisk and helped drive its transformation into a global leader in big-data and advanced analytics. He also helped drive the acquisition of several high-profile global companies during his tenure at Verisk. In prior roles, he served as head of Citibank's credit card business in the United Kingdom and as vice president of marketing at GE Capital.
