Scientific and medical information resources provider McGraw-Hill Professional, US, has launched AccessPhysiotherapy (http://www.accessphysiotherapy.com), an online resource for physical therapy (PT) students and educators. The product is the latest in McGraw-Hill's suite of Access-branded digital learning platforms for medical students and physicians.
AccessPhysiotherapy provides searchable, full-text access to eleven McGraw-Hill physical therapy and internal medicine titles. These include Orthopaedic Examination, Evaluation, and Intervention; Imaging in Rehabilitation; and Pharmacology for the Physical Therapist. AccessPhysiotherapy also offers curricular management tracking tools and tests, interactive imaging content, more than 80 videos, an exclusive series of neurology lectures, and image banks. Bringing together content from across McGraw-Hill Education, the resource includes Anatomy and Physiology Revealed, a cadaver dissection tool that offers users an unparalleled ability to explore the body and its systems. In the coming months, the site will also feature videos from Clinical Sports Medicine, a DVD developed by McGraw-Hill Australia for the critically-acclaimed textbook by the same name.
AccessPhysiotherapy features the innovative Custom Curriculum, an online tool that educators can use to assign, manage, and track the progress of student assignments. For programme directors, AccessPhysiotherapy represents a significant step forward in curriculum development and design, offering detailed assignment monitoring, student assessment tests and tools, and student progress reports, as well as an ability to share assignment designs with other programmes. The Custom Curriculum allows PT students to view available topics from their programme director, as well as their own individual progress by activity.
Other features include a drug database providing critical information on medication; over 1,200 self-assessment questions; a My AccessPT feature that allows users to save their own libraries of images; and full Bibliography and Reference areas. Like other Access products, new content will be added to the site monthly, with additional titles and videos to follow later in the year.
