Academic open-access publisher Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute (MDPI) has announced the appointment of Professor Orazio Taglialatela-Scafati as Editor-in-Chief of Marine Drugs.

Orazio Taglialatela-Scafati is Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology at the Department of Pharmacy, University Federico II of Naples (Italy), where he has been a faculty member since 1999, under the supervision of the late Professor E. Fattorusso.

He has published nearly 170 peer-reviewed research papers, several book chapters, two international patents, and co-edited the ‘Handbook of Marine Natural Products’ (Fattorusso, Gerwick, Taglialatela-Scafati; Springer, 2012), a two-volume handbook featuring the major themes of marine product chemistry and biology. Since 2014, Professor Taglialatela-Scafati has served as Associate Editor of Marine Drugs.
