Mechanics & Industry now indexed in DOAJ and awarded the DOAJ Seal -

Mechanics & Industry (M&I) has been accepted into the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) where it joins over 16,500 other high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. These journals cover all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities. In addition to the indexation, M&I has also been awarded the DOAJ Seal for ‘best practice in open access publishing’. This achievement comes only a few short months after it transitioned to full open access at the start of 2021.

Mechanics & Industry was already celebrating an increased Impact Factor, which now stands at 0.913. Indexation in the DOAJ means M&I is in compliance with the open access policy of the DOAJ and meets all the strict criteria required for inclusion. Only around 10% of journals indexed in the DOAJ are awarded the DOAJ Seal, so this is a further mark of recognition and excellence.

The DOAJ is an independent database the mission of which is to ‘increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, usage and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly research journals globally, regardless of discipline, geography or language.’

Mechanics & Industry is an international, peer-reviewed journal with a focus on mechanical sciences and engineering applications. It is led by Editor-in-Chief Professor Régis Dufour, INSA Lyon, France. The journal acts as an interface between research and industry by coordinating and disseminating the results of scientific and technical research within mechanics. M&I is the official journal of the Association Française de Mécanique (AFM).
