Missing Link Versandbuchhandlung eG to represent The Company of Biologists in Austria, Germany and Switzerland -

The Company of Biologists, a leading not-for-profit publisher, has appointed Missing Link Versandbuchhandlung eG as its representative in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. The partnership is expected to increase the visibility of The Company of Biologists and expand its subscriptions and Read & Publish program.

The Company of Biologists’ Read & Publish Open Access initiative has been gaining traction, with over 600 institutions in 41 countries participating. This has led to significant growth in Open Access publishing in the publisher's hybrid and fully OA journals, including Development, Journal of Cell Science, Journal of Experimental Biology, Disease Models & Mechanisms, and Biology Open.

Klaus Tapken, Chairman of Missing Link Versandbuchhandlung eG, expressed excitement about the new partnership and the potential for greater opportunities for the biological sciences community in the region to publish Open Access articles without charge in the leading peer-reviewed journals.

Rich Blount, Sales Manager at The Company of Biologists, also expressed confidence in the partnership, citing Missing Link’s excellent relationships with libraries and consortia, and ability to provide top-quality local support, as key factors that will enable more researchers in the region to benefit from uncapped, immediate, and fee-free OA publishing in the publisher's journals through Read & Publish agreements.

The Company of Biologists’ move towards full Open Access has been successful thus far, and the partnership with Missing Link Versandbuchhandlung eG is expected to drive further growth in the coming years.
