The MIT Press, US, has announced the launch of a new website called CISnet (http://cisnet.mit.edu). The site, hosted on the Tizra platform, allows computer and information science researchers and other subscribers to search and view full text of more than 150 books by some of the press's top authors, with more books being added on an ongoing basis.
CISnet includes books on topics such as programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, human-computer interaction, databases, digital libraries, networking, and robotics. Individual subscribers to CISnet pay $125 for one-year access to the complete library. One-month access is also available for $25. While institutional one-year subscriptions begin at $1,100, commercial site licenses are available at $2,500 per year.
The MIT Press claims to be one of the largest American university presses. The Press' Journals Division publishes scholarly books and journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.
