The National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) has announced new and returning editorial staff for Osteoporosis International's North American office, including Adrianne Tewksbury, Managing Editor; Dr. Jeri Nieves, Helen Hayes Hospital, Senior Associate Editor; Dr. Robert Adler, McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Associate Editor; Dr. Neil Binkley, University of Wisconsin, Associate Editor; Dr. David Dempster, Helen Hayes Hospital, Associate Editor; and Dr. Michael Lewiecki, New Mexico Clinical Research & Osteoporosis Center, Review Editor.
The editors join Dr. Felicia Cosman, Medical Director of the Clinical Research Center at Helen Hayes Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons, the recently announced Co-Editor-in-Chief of Osteoporosis International.
Osteoporosis International (OI) is an international multi-disciplinary journal and joint initiative of NOF and the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF). OI provides a forum for the publication, communication and exchange of current research related to the diagnosis, prevention, treatment and management of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases.
The journal publishes clinically oriented original research papers, reporting investigational findings in all areas of osteoporosis and its related fields; review articles, reflecting the present state of knowledge in specific areas each month; perspectives and editorials in selected areas, and position statements from both NOF and IOF. OI also publishes case reports, of uncommon or interesting presentations of the condition.
