Nature Awards and Seed Health unveil Microbiome Accelerator to translate groundbreaking research into health innovations -

Nature Awards, a division of Springer Nature, has joined forces with Seed Health, a pioneering US-based microbiome science company, to launch the Nature Awards Microbiome Accelerator program. This groundbreaking initiative aims to propel transformative microbiome research from the laboratory to real-world impact, bridging the gap between scientific discovery and practical application in healthcare.

The Nature Awards Microbiome Accelerator program will identify and support the next generation of microbiome researchers driven to translate their findings into tangible health solutions. Through grants, guidance, and hands-on translational development support, the program seeks to fast-track the commercialization of groundbreaking discoveries in microbiome science.

The human microbiome holds vast potential for innovation in therapeutics and consumer health, promising groundbreaking advancements that could revolutionize healthcare paradigms. The Microbiome Accelerator program will provide researchers with funding, expert insights, mentorship from industry leaders, science communication guidance, and specialized training to translate their research into practical applications. This comprehensive support, including an immersive residential program in London, UK, aims to uphold scientific integrity while guiding research through the journey to commercialization.

Nature Awards and Seed Health invite university research groups worldwide to apply for the Microbiome Accelerator program. Following a rigorous evaluation process, four teams will be selected to receive at least $100,000 in support, comprising cash grants and additional resources, to advance the translation and commercialization of their research. Winners will also participate in an exclusive four-day residential program in London, UK, offering specialized training and immersive workshops across all stages of the commercialization journey.

Applications for the Microbiome Accelerator program are now open, with the winners set to be announced at the end of 2024.
