Nature and The Estée Lauder Companies have announced the winners of the 2025 Nature Awards for Inspiring Women in Science, recognizing outstanding contributions to scientific discovery and community outreach.
Sue Han Lee, Senior Lecturer, Swinburne University of Technology, Malaysia, has received the Scientific Achievement Award, which honors early-career researchers who have made significant contributions to advancing science. Lee has been recognized for her AI-driven research in plant diversity and sustainable agriculture. Her work has supported scalable digital solutions that enhance conservation strategies, biodiversity data systems, and environmental resilience across research, agricultural innovation, policymaking, and industry transformation.
The Science Outreach Award has been presented to WinSci Pakistan for its work in encouraging girls and young women to pursue education and careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine (STEM). The organization provides disadvantaged youth, particularly girls in Pakistan, with access to STEM courses, mentorship, and scholarships aimed at fostering participation in scientific fields.
Magdalena Skipper, Editor in Chief, Nature, noted that the awards celebrate women researchers who contribute to advancing knowledge and inspire future generations through their discoveries and science communication.
