Nature Publishing Group expands OA publishing in China -

Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG), UK, has announced an expansion in open access publishing in China. Under the initiative, NPG will publish two open access journals - International Journal of Oral Science and Light: Science & Applications - with Chinese universities from 2012.

In addition, open access options are now available on three more journals published by NPG on behalf of Chinese partners. These are: Acta Pharmacologica Sinica, Asian Journal of Andrology and Cellular & Molecular Immunology. All six journals that NPG publishes with Chinese societies and partners now offer an open access option. These titles join Cell Research, which introduced an open access option in December 2010.

NPG will co-publish International Journal of Oral Science (IJOS) with the West China School of Stomatology, Sichuan University, from January 2012. Backed by the premier oral science research group in China, IJOS has been published since 2009 by the West China School of Stomatology. From launch on the nature.com platform, IJOS will be an open access journal.

Light: Science & Applications (LSA) will be a new journal in the field of Optics and Photonics. The journal is a publishing partnership between NPG and Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics (CIOMP). The first articles will be published in March 2012. LSA will be an online-only, open access journal.

Authors publishing in these journals can choose to make their article open access on payment of an article processing charge (APC).
