Nature Publishing Group set to publish JSHG' Journal of Human Genetics -

Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group (NPG), UK, has announced a new publishing partnership with the Japan Society for Human Genetics (JSHG). Under the deal, NPG will publish the latter's Journal of Human Genetics from January 2009.

The Journal of Human Genetics publishes articles on human genetics, including medical genetics and human genome analysis. This partnership is the latest in a series of partnerships that NPG Nature Asia-Pacific, a wing of NPG with offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Delhi and Melbourne, is undertaking with scientific and clinical societies in this region. The journal will be able to take advantage of NPG's editorial expertise, pioneering technologies, innovative formats and world-class production to provide premium information for scientific researchers in the public and private sectors, government agencies and educators.

NPG has published a great deal of innovative human genetics research including the original description of the structure of DNA, the first initial description and the finished version of the human genome sequence, the HapMap of the human genome and countless other key papers in the field. In addition to its flagship journal Nature, NPG publishes a number of journals that cover human genetics. These include Nature Genetics, Nature Reviews Genetics, European Journal of Human Genetics, Oncogene and Genes and Immunity.
