The new office will include the editorial team for Nature Catalysis, a new journal, which is launching in January 2018. Celebrations commenced on November 6 with a panel discussion titled 'Catalysis for a sustainable future' and was followed by a reception in the rooms of Springer Nature at Heidelberger Platz in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. The event is part of the Berlin Science Week.

Panelists at the event included Sonja Jost, Managing Director of DexLeChem GmbH, Jan Kees van der Waal of Avantium, Prof. dr. Peter Strasser of the Institute of Chemistry of the Technical University Berlin, Prof. Dr. med. Roel van de Krol from the Helmholtz Center Berlin for Materials and Energy and Dr. med. Enda Bergin, Chief Editor of Nature Catalysis.

The discussion will be moderated by Daniel Ferber, who will also be presenting Springer Nature's Grand Challenges programme, which addresses complex global challenges of the time. This will be complemented by another new Nature Research journal, Nature Sustainability, launching in January 2018, which will specifically focus on these topics.
