Scientific publisher Nature Publishing Group, UK, has announced that its international science publication Nature has been redesigned and enhanced in print and online to ensure that it remains a must-read for busy scientists. A digital edition is also now available. Beginning with the September 23 issue, Nature now reveals a new look, clearer structure and navigation, and expanded content.
As well as a new cover and clean design, the print and online tables of contents have been simplified, and the content reorganised to make it easier to navigate. A new section called 'This week' contains Nature's Editorials and summaries of recent developments. It also includes a new page, 'World View', where external authors give a timely perspective on current issues.
Other magazine content has been streamlined into the 'News in Focus', 'Comment' and 'Careers' sections, while the 'Research' section includes accessible summaries of the latest research articles available now online, News and Views, review articles, and primary research content of Nature - its Articles and Letters. The editorial team of writers and editors has been strengthened to make content even more of a talking point.
As the new look goes live, Nature has launched a new and highly readable digital edition. A three month free trial period (registration required) will help Nature gather feedback and gauge demand. An iPad app for Nature is also in the pipeline, as is further support for mobile devices.
