NetLearning unveils version 8.0 of learning management system for healthcare sector -

NetLearning, a US-based provider of online courses and e-learning software for healthcare workers and hospital administrators, has released version 8.0 of its learning management system (LMS) platform. Built in ASP.net/Microsoft SQL Server architecture, the NetLearning LMS was reportedly designed and refined by healthcare professionals to ensure maximum efficiency when managing, tracking and reporting on staff development, training and compliance.

NetLearning, part of Cengage Learning, partnered with current and prospective clients to gather user feedback during key phases of development through to the pilot programme. As a result, the new version is claimed to include more platform flexibility to customise dashboards, reports and enrollments to better allow for tracking of training activity. NetLearning's LMS platform offers integration with HR systems, sending information on grades and course completion dates to automate payroll, scheduling, merit raises and other performance initiatives as determined by the administrator. In addition, e-commerce capabilities have been built into the new version, allowing healthcare facilities to sell courses to staff, community volunteers or suppliers.

Features of NetLearning LMS version 8.0 include NetManagerPlus, which delegates administrative privileges to the department level; ACT, an accelerated training assessment feature that enables facilities to set up curriculum pre-assessment to test and evaluate the knowledge of users before mandatory training begins; and Minute Mandatories, which lets employees due for recertification to take mandatory courses in just six minutes.

The tool also features Accreditation Assurance, which offers accreditation audit support; myNetLearning, a customisable student interface; and Web 2.0 functionalities.
