The Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE) has announced that researchers Dr. Corey Nislow, Dr. Wallace Marshall, Dr. Marc Lecruit and Dr. Steven Vogel have joined the journal's Editorial Board.
As board members, the researchers will act as advocates for the future of academic publishing, sharing in JoVE's mission to accelerate the progress of biological, medical, chemical and physical research through increased transparency, which video-based publication allows. The Board members will also suggest new content to make JoVE's video library more comprehensive. They will review submissions to the journal to ensure that the techniques the journal publishes meet the most rigorous academic standards.
JoVE claims to be the only peer-reviewed, PubMed and MEDLINE-indexed journal devoted to publishing research in the biological sciences in video format. Using an international network of videographers, the journal films and edits videos of researchers performing new experimental techniques at top universities, allowing students and scientists to learn them much more quickly. As of September 2011 JoVE has released 55 monthly issues including over 1300 video-protocols on experimental approaches in developmental biology, neuroscience, microbiology and other fields.
