Mobile medical references provider Skyscape, US, has announced a new mobile software tool that helps clinicians assess the appropriateness of ordering specific imaging diagnostics (SPECT MPI) for patients who have or are at risk for cardiovascular disease.
The American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF) and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) jointly developed the appropriateness criteria by blending evidence-based information and clinical experience, to enable a more efficient and equitable allocation of healthcare resources. The ACC SPECT MPI Appropriateness tool complements Skyscape's Cardiology Constellation, which offers cardiologists a broad spectrum of information such as drug information, clinical resources, ACC guidelines, continuing medical education (CME) activities, scoring calculators, MedLine channel as well as MedAlert delivering up-to-the-minute information on clinical trials, journal summaries and drug labeling changes and recalls.
The new software tool joins the existing array of ACCF Guidelines and ACCF Clinical Trials database offered in desktop and mobile format by Skyscape, divided in convenient packages for Arrhythmias, General Cardiology, and Interventional/Surgical & Vascular groups. These implementations have been popular among physicians as they are fully integrated into the overall Skyscape portfolio using Skyscape's patented SmartLink and Knowtify technologies.
The SPECT MPI Appropriateness Tool is available for free download at the Skyscape website at www.skyscape.com/spectmpi.
