CMAJ Open, a new online open-access research journal from the same family as the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ), will begin publishing late January 2013. The journal is owned by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).
CMAJ Open will publish high-quality, peer-reviewed medical research papers without the need for authors to demonstrate high impact. Medical and healthcare research, including that from allied healthcare professions, is welcome. The journal will post new content online as soon as it is ready. All content will be available at no charge to readers from publication date.
Dr. Diane Kelsall, a family physician, will serve as the Editor of the journal. Dr. Kelsall is also Deputy Editor, Clinical, at CMAJ and was the editor of Canadian Family Physician before joining CMAJ in 2008.
