New Science journals site named among best science websites in 26th Annual Webby Awards -

The new Science journals website (www.science.org), which launched last September, has been honored among the Best Science Websites in the 26th Annual Webby Awards. Voting is open to the public through April 21 at: vote.webbyawards.com.

Being honored as a Webby Award finalist makes the site for the Science journals – which are published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) – one of the five best websites in the world in its category, and among the top 12% of the over 14,000 sites entered this year.

Built by Atypon Design Studio in partnership with Science’s design team, the new site makes content more integrated, discoverable, and visually engaging than ever before. Readers who visit can be apprised of a wide range of critical science and policy issues at a glance, absorb new research from all six journals on a single page, find timely commentary and news front and center, and immerse themselves in award-winning visuals.

Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet. IADAS, which nominates and selects The Webby Award Winners, is comprised of Internet industry experts. Established in 1996, The Webby Awards received more than 14,300 entries from all 50 states and 70 countries worldwide this year.
