Non-profit scientific publisher Institute of Physics (IOP) Publishing, UK, has announced that the Classical and Quantum Field Theory section in the Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical will change to Field Theory and String Theory. The new section will be under the leadership of Arkady Tseytlin, Imperial College, London.
The Field Theory and String Theory section of Journal of Physics A publishes innovative and significant new results in areas including general methods of quantum field theory; gauge theories and their applications; supersymmetric field theories in various dimensions; conformal field theories; integrable field theories; solitonic solutions and semiclassical techniques; general string theory and its applications; string theory -- gauge theory interface; and applied quantum field theory: Casimir effect and classical field theory.
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical reports research on the mathematical structures that describe fundamental processes of the physical world and on the analytical, computational and numerical methods for exploring these structures. Each issue of the journal is split into six sections. This includes statistical physics; chaotic and complex systems; mathematical physics; quantum mechanics and quantum information theory; classical and quantum field theory; and fluid and plasma theory.
