Publisher ASTM International, US, has announced the launch of a new publication, STP 1518, Contaminated Sediments: Sustainable Management and Remediation. The publication features 23 peer-reviewed papers that provide the latest global information on environmentally sound solutions to the sustainable management and remediation of contaminated sediments.
Papers included in STP 1518 address coverage of contaminated sediments by structural features or fixing agents; neutralisation by dredging, treating and re-deposition of the sediments in place; dredging by off-site encapsulation; and encapsulation of the sediments along the shore by dredging, accumulating and covering.
Also featured in this new publication are several case studies for important projects being conducted in Ireland, Scotland, Malaysia, Turkey, Japan, Canada and the US.
