Science and Research Content

New thematic series published by Implementation Science -

Implementation Science, published by open access publisher BioMed Central, UK, has published a new series 'Evidence Informed Health Policy,' which discusses the implementation of multi method studies conducted in three phases and the synthesis of these three studies. The series of articles, all written by John N Lavis, Ray Moynihan, Andrew D Oxman and Elizabeth J Paulsen, provides support for the use of research evidence in developing health policies.

The series features four articles - Evidence-informed health policy 1; Evidence-informed health policy 2; Evidence-informed health policy 3; and Evidence-informed health policy 4. Evidence-informed health policy 1 features synthesis of findings from a multi-method study of organisations that support the use of research evidence. Evidence-informed health policy 2 is a survey of organisations that support the use of research evidence. While Evidence-informed health policy 3 features interviews with the directors of organisations that support the use of research evidence, Evidence-informed health policy 4 covers case descriptions of organisations that support the use of research evidence.

Implementation Science is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal that aims to publish research relevant to the scientific study of methods to promote the uptake of research findings into routine healthcare in both clinical and policy contexts. All articles published in the journal are archived in PubMed Central, the US National Library of Medicine's full-text repository of life science literature, and also at INIST in France and in e-Depot, the National Library of the Netherlands' digital archive of all electronic publications. The journal is also participating in the British Library's e-journals pilot project, and plans to deposit copies of all articles with the British Library.
