Vital Source Technologies, Inc., part of Ingram Content Group Inc, US, has announced that New York University's College of Dentistry has selected Vital Source for its innovative digital learning curriculum. Working together for a decade, the university has renewed its relationship with Vital Source for a new contract period.
The New York University College of Dentistry began its work with Vital Source in 2001. The university directs all students in their programme to use the VitalSource platform for all course materials including e-textbooks, interactive course materials, lectures, and other links to additional educational resources.
Using the platform, students and educators at NYU's College of Dentistry can access content via download, online or mobile options including popular iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices. Users can take and share notes and data with colleagues and highlight and annotate relevant items within the content they are working.
The renewal of NYU School of Dentistry's agreement with Vital Source follows the recent June 2011 acquisition of VPG Integrated Media, a developer of award-winning enhanced e-textbook applications, interactive learning objects and e-whiteboard content, and state-of-the-art video, audio, and animation production services for educational publishers. Together, VPG and Vital Source create an e-textbook offering that meets the demands of publishers, educators, and students in this new era of learning opportunities.
