The National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS™), a global nonprofit membership organisation serving the information services community, will host the NFAIS 2016 Humanities Roundtable on September 23 in Atlanta with virtual participation available from any location.
2016's event, hosted in conjunction with Atlanta's Pitts Theology Library / Candler School of Theology / Emory University, focuses on the theme of 'Digital Humanities: Preserving the Past, Capturing the Present & Building the Future.' The annual event brings together an array of information professionals working in the collaborative realm of digital humanities, libraries, publishing and advanced information services.
The NFAIS 2016 Humanities Roundtable, among other topics, will cover the global research habits of Humanities scholars; how scholarly communications supports Digital Humanities; how students and faculty represent two different paths in the technology-rich journey of scholarly research; a panel on innovative Digital Humanities projects at Emory University; and legal issues affecting Digital Humanities such as intellectual property, copyright and privacy.
