NISO appoints Keondra Bailey as Assistant Standards Program Manager -

The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has announced that Keondra Bailey has joined the organization in the newly-created role of Assistant Standards Program Manager. In this role Keondra will assist NISO’s active program of standards development through volunteer working groups, providing those groups with greater organizational, logistical, and promotional support. In this way, she will help further NISO’s mission of developing relevant and timely guidance on industry best practice.

Keondra has an MLS with a concentration in Digital Libraries from North Carolina Central University, and she joins NISO with experience of working at both academic libraries and publishers, two of NISO’s core communities, positioning her well for her new position. She joins NISO from Duke University Press, where she worked as the Digital Access Specialist, providing technical assistance to troubleshoot a wide range of complex electronic resources issues involving user authentication, co-access, and usage statistics. She also served as her team's representative on the Project Euclid platform migration initiative and took the lead in organizing process documentation.

Keondra is an active member of several professional organizations, having served as Member-at-Large on the NASIG Executive Board from 2019-22, acting as board liaison to the Standards and Bylaws Committees. She is currently a member of the NASIG Standards and Program Planning Committees, and also serves on the Society for Scholarly Publishing's Annual Meeting Program Committee.
