The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has opened the call for session proposals for its upcoming NISO Plus Global/Online virtual conference, scheduled for September 16–17, 2025. Proposals may be submitted through June 20.
The conference aims to bring together stakeholders across the global information community to discuss challenges and opportunities in scholarly communication. Organizers encourage submissions that promote interactive dialogue, with each session including time for audience Q&A and discussion. Presentations will be delivered live where feasible to support real-time engagement.
Proposed topics may address a wide range of issues relevant to the information ecosystem, including—but not limited to—artificial intelligence (licensing, use cases, ethics), accessibility, community-building in uncertain environments, cybersecurity, multilingualism, global scholarly perspectives, research integrity, open research infrastructure, and metadata. Submissions outside these categories are also welcome.
The planning committee encourages proposals that represent diverse perspectives, including geographic, organizational, and functional variety, and that consider diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Submissions should ideally identify confirmed speakers or provide examples of potential participants.
Decisions will be communicated by July 8 following a review by the NISO Plus 2025 Planning Committee.
