The Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) has announced that nominations are now open for the 2025 SSP Emerging Leader Award, which will be presented at the organization’s 47th Annual Meeting in Baltimore this May.
This esteemed award recognizes an SSP member with 1 to 8 years of experience in scholarly publishing or communication who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and service. Ideal candidates have made significant contributions to SSP committees, task forces, and the broader scholarly communications field.
Anyone can submit a nomination packet, including self-nominations. To nominate a candidate, a brief summary (300-500 words) is required to explain why the individual deserves the honor. Nominators must also provide a recommendation from a mentor or supervisor.
The winner will be selected based on their leadership within SSP, contributions that extend beyond their employer, and their dedication to advancing the field of scholarly communications.
The Emerging Leader Award, established in 2012, acknowledges rising stars in the field who have shown remarkable potential. Nominations are due by March 28, 2025, and eligibility criteria and the nomination process are available on the SSP website.
